There are lots of variable factors in maintaining a correct water balance including the weather, water temperature and use. We recomend that during summer and when you are using your pool, you should check the water balance at least twice a week and always before swimming. During winter this can be reduced to weekly or fortnightly, but remember to always check the water before swimming.
Adding Chemicals:
As a general rule when adding chemicals to your pool, you are recomended to add small amounts of chemicals and running the filter for several hours and then testing the effect. Attempting drastic chemical changes by adding large amounts of chemicals can result in BIG PROBLEMS. Remember to allow at least 1 hour after adding chemicals, with the filter running, before swimming.
How long should i run my pump for?
We suggest that you run your pool pump for a minimum of 8 hours a day during summer. This allows your pool water to move through the filter at least twice a day. During the cooler months you can reduce your timers as the pool will not have the same demand as it has in summer. We suggest 6 hours a day in autumn and spring and down to 4 hours a day in winter.
